About Mrs. Miller:
I’m looking forward to another great year at Hess! My name is Angela Miller, and this is my 7th year of teaching. I worked at Eggers for 2 years teaching Math to middle school students. Then I came to Joseph Hess and began teaching 4 wonderful years in 4th grade. This will be my first year teaching 5th grade and I am very excited!
I have lived my entire life in Indiana. I grew up in DeMotte, and now currently live in Crown Point. I love being a hoosier! I was married in May 2009. In November 2010, we had our first son named Memphis. I absolutely love being a mom! He is the joy of my life!
I am an animal lover! I currently have 3 dogs, Versace, Bentley, and Scarlet. We have a chicken coop with 9 laying hens. Fresh brown and white eggs available at all times!
Education has always been a very important part of my life. I guess that was inevitable being the child of a teacher.(My mother is a retired German teacher.) I earned my bachelor's degree from Purdue University Calumet in 2004. I believe that learning never stops. It happens everywhere, every minute of your life. Take it all in. We are all life-long learners!
My classroom is a well organized learning environment. I am very particular about the set-up of my room here at work, as well as my house at home. I need things to be in their correct places or it drives me bananas! Come peek in my room, and students will be on task doing what they should be doing. :) I am very excited about my new class "Hollywood" theme. It is zebra print with blue and pink accents!
Although teaching is not an easy job, I feel lucky to admit that there is nothing I would rather do. Making learning both engaging and purposeful for my students is my ultimate goal.
